What we do

Seeking to model God’s love and care, St. James Food Pantry provides fresh and healthy food to our neighbors, regardless of religious affiliation and without discrimination.

Using best practices and guidelines from the NYS Department of Health, we ensure each family leaves with approximately three days worth of nutritious meals.

We’re open on the Second and Last Saturdays of every month. Volunteers prep the food in the days ahead and then come for distribution at 9 a.m.

Why we’re needed

In our Bronx neighborhood, a majority of households earn $30,000 or less. Families struggle to determine which bills and health care costs will be paid or postponed.  The working poor often sacrifice proper nutrition to navigate their financial challenges.

St. James Food Pantry is a welcome break from this struggle: our guests receive 3 days of guaranteed and secure nutrition.
